Associação RAEGE Açores is a non-profit private association between the Government of the Azores and SATA, SA, with the aim of managing and coordinating scientific and technical activities related to the RAEGE Network, developing scientific research, promoting and supporting R&D activities in its fields of activity, liaising between the scientific and the business communities, coordinating, promoting and participating in studies, projects and programs, promoting and coordinating training actions, supporting local institutions in the pursuit and promotion of science and technology policies, disseminating technical and scientific information, among others.

The Regional Fund for Science and Technology (FRCT) was created with the objective to coordinate and manage the financial resources available for scientific research and technological development from Regional, European and International programmes. The Regional Directorate for Culture (RDC), under the Regional Department for Education and Culture, anchors its action on two areas of intervention: the promotion and enhancement of creative and cultural activities, as well as the protection and valuation of built, movable and intangible heritage. The Regional Directorate for Planning and Structural Funds is the entity of the Government of the Azores responsible for the monitoring and management of the ERDF and CF structural funds, and regional interlocutor for the INTERREG V-A Transnational Operational Program Madeira – Azores – Canary Islands 2014-2020. Currently, it is the Managing Authority of the Regional Operational Program AÇORES 2020. The Regional Directorate of Agriculture is the department of the Regional Secretariat for Agriculture and Florestry that is responsible for contributing to the definition of public policies in the agricultural and livestock area. In addition to conducting agrarian vocational training, and scientific studies every year, Regional Directorate of Agriculture ensures the supervision, promotion and improvement of the quality of Azorean agricultural production, the promotion of agricultural diversification, organic farming, animal and plant health, as well as veterinary public hygiene. The Regional Directorate for Rural Development is responsible for the definition of policies related to agriculture and livestock, rural development, diversification, transformation and valorization of regional productions, agrarian formation and rural extension, management and valorization of forest and natural resources. It is therefore responsible for ensuring the management, guidance, coordination and implementation of these policies focusing on agricultural and forestry productivity and the economic development of these activities, in alignment with the Common Agricultural Policy, through the implementation and management of the European Agricultural Support Programs of Rural Development in Azores.

The Regional Directorate for European Affairs is an operational service whose action is horizontal and cross-sectors in nature, and which operates under the dependency of the Regional Secretary of the Presidency for External Relations – the duties that it carries out consist of analyses, monitoring, coordinating and executing the politics of the Regional Government in the sphere of European Affairs. The Regional Directorate for Fisheries (DRP) is the Azores government body that works to ensure the sustainable development of the fisheries, protect the marine environment and support responsible fishing practices. The Oceanic Observatory of Madeira (OOM) seeks to become a centre of excellence dedicated to research and permanent monitoring of the ocean. This initiative brings together a multidisciplinary scientific community, joining several institutions with the aim of promoting cooperation and resource optimization. The initiative started in January 2014, aiming to consolidate historical data, observations and forecasts in a common platform, and permiting the Autonomous Region of Madeira to meet the demands of marine resources evaluation and management, providing the region with adequate means for its sustainable development.
