Câmara Municipal de Angra do Heroísmo

Angra do Heroísmo’s City Hall is the executive organ of the municipality and its mission is to define and implement policies that promote its development in different areas, since it has favorable natural conditions and local resources to launch new business and investments, especially in the sectors of Tourism, Agriculture, Environment and Culture.

With 239 Km2 is composed of 19 parishes with a total of 35,402 inhabitants, of which 10,800 live in the urban area, whose historical center is classified as a World Heritage Site.

The city is the historical capital and the head of the Catholic Church of the Archipelago and home to the Military Garrison Regiment No. 1, one of the oldest in Portugal.
