The Regional Directorate for European Affairs is an operational service whose action is horizontal and cross-sectors in nature, and which operates under the dependency of the Regional Secretary of the Presidency for External Relations – the duties that it carries out consist of analyses, monitoring, coordinating and executing the politics of the Regional Government in the sphere of European Affairs.

It’s functions and responsibilities are strictly connected with the global action of the Regional Government with the EU’s institutions, as well as with the participation of the Autonomous Region of the Azores in bodies of interregional cooperation.
